What you need to know, Portugal new restrictions placed by the Portuguese government will impact residents and visitors to Portugal starting immediately. In a bid to reduce the daily cases of COVID-19 and the new Omicron variant spreading through the population, the Portuguese have implemented more strict rules.

Every traveller arriving at an airport in Portugal will have to show proof of a negative covid test taken within a set time frame. Bars and nightclubs have been closed and restaurants require a valid covid test no older than 48 hours.
